Fort Collins, Colorado, has a robust literary scene enriched by Diamond Michael Scott's vibrant presence. A man of many talents and passions, Scott's journey from Columbus, Ohio, to his current home in Fort Collins is a testament to his insatiable thirst for knowledge and his relentless pursuit of literary greatness.
A Lifelong Love Affair with Literature
From an early age, Scott was enveloped in a world of books, thanks to his mother, a dedicated K-12 reading specialist, and his father, a university administrator and intellectual. Growing up in Columbus, Ohio, Scott was instilled with a deep appreciation for the magic of literature, a passion that continues to fuel his life’s work.

Early Career and Evolution
By age twenty-six, Scott had already significantly impacted the senior healthcare leadership team of a 288-bed hospital in Chicago. His career then took a dynamic turn as he delved into journalism and public speaking, honing his abilities as a master communicator. These experiences laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Championing Animal Welfare
In addition to his literary and professional achievements, Scott also holds a special place in his heart for animal welfare. He’s worked closely with animal rescues, showcasing his dedication to the well-being of animals and the importance of compassion and care in all aspects of life. This experience has further enriched his perspective, adding depth to his multifaceted persona.

Confronting Racism and Seeking Inclusivity
We did Diamond Michael’s branding session in Fort Collins, CO. At first, I encouraged him to come to Loveland, CO for his session. He hesitated to schedule his branding photo session there, citing concerns about Loveland being a historic sundown town. Initially unfamiliar with the term, I looked it up and was appalled by its meaning—a town where discriminatory practices historically restricted Black people and other minorities from staying after dark.
This revelation was deeply unsettling, especially as I began to notice how predominantly white the area seemed. It served as a stark reminder of how insidious and persistent racism can be, even in seemingly idyllic places. Diamon Michael shared that Fort Collins is a more welcoming and inclusive environment for his session. Known for its friendliness and acceptance, Fort Collins offered a more comfortable and affirming setting for Diamond Michael. It was a powerful lesson in the need to remain vigilant against racism and to seek out and actively support inclusive communities.
Great Books, Great Minds
In January 2020, Scott launched "Great Books, Great Minds," a project dedicated to igniting a new world of community, connection, and conversation—one book at a time. Through this initiative, he collaborates with authors to help them leverage their literary works, creating profitable opportunities that bridge literature and branding.

The Chocolate Taoist
Scott’s persona as "The Chocolate Taoist" reflects his role as a Nomadic Wisdom Teacher. Through his teachings, he guides individuals towards more interconnected and expansive lives. This philosophy is at the heart of his forthcoming book, "The Way of the Chocolate Taoist," which will be released in September 2024.
A Life of Rich Experiences
Scott's urbane, ambitious, and rebellious nature has taken him across various cities, with Chicago holding a special place in his heart as the city where he found his true calling. A nomad by choice, he has lived widely, always finding a home wherever his journey takes him.
Personal Pleasures and Inspirations
When not immersed in books or guiding others, Scott enjoys the sultry melodies of Marian Hill, reading Fast Company Magazine and Chicago Magazine, engaging in spirited conversations at edgy martini bars, and the thrill of NHL hockey. A proud graduate of the Ohio State University, Scott remains a loyal member of Buckeye Nation.
Diamond Michael Scott is gifted at bringing the pieces together. He loves to talk about philosophy.
